About Lakeside

Our goal at LAKESIDE is to:

Create a caring and friendly environment

Offer a safe space and opportunities for volunteers to use their talents or gain new skills

Provide a service by receiving and offering quality donated or consignment options

Assist in keeping usable items from going to the landfill and use excellent recycling practices

Participate in providing aid to special projects and individuals locally with a portion of our proceeds

Lakeside Thrift and Consignment, was started in 2024 by Janet Banman. The Banman family had recently moved to Charlie Lake in 2023 and built a new home there. Janet, with her 10 years of thrift experience, saw an opportunity to serve the community by providing a shop for new and second-hand goods. The shop is located in the Northern Legendary Plaza, which houses the Post office off the Alaska Highway, in a bright new building that accommodates the shop well.

The business aims to provide low-cost, second-hand goods for sale to the people of Charlie Lake and the surrounding community, and also offers a consignment segment for locals to sell and purchase high-quality goods. The back door of the shop accepts donations of unneeded items of resale value.
